Install Thawing Fox for Chrome

Download the extension ZIP, extract it, then load the folder in Chrome's extension manager.

Chrome on desktop is required. The install flow uses Developer Mode in chrome://extensions.

What You'll Need

  • Google Chrome on macOS, Windows, or Linux
  • The downloaded Thawing Fox ZIP file
  • A minute to extract the folder and load it once

After the extension is loaded, open the Thawing Fox dashboard or popup and sign in with Google to connect your mailbox.

Install Steps

Follow these steps exactly the first time you install the extension.

Download and extract the ZIP

Download the Chrome ZIP, then extract it so you have a normal folder on disk.

Open Chrome's extension manager

In Chrome, paste chrome://extensions into the address bar and open it.

Enable Developer Mode

Turn on the Developer Mode toggle in the top-right corner so Chrome shows more install actions.

Choose "Load unpacked"

Click Load unpacked, then select the extracted Thawing Fox folder that contains manifest.json.

Open Thawing Fox and sign in

Once Chrome loads the extension, pin it if you want quick access, then open the Thawing Fox UI and sign in with Google to finish setup.

Troubleshooting

The first install usually fails for one of these two reasons.

Chrome rejects the ZIP

Chrome cannot load the ZIP file directly. Extract it first, then pick the extracted folder during the Load unpacked step.

"Load unpacked" is missing

That button only appears after Developer Mode is on. Return to chrome://extensions and enable the toggle in the top-right corner.
